Our Story
Learn more about the team behind Cauthan Construction.
Cauthan Construction Company, Inc. is a South Georgia based construction firm with roots dating back to 1952. The company was originally founded by D.C. Cauthan, who began by providing residential construction services throughout the region.
In the early 1960s, the company expanded into commercial construction while continuing to build a reputation for dependable craftsmanship and integrity.
In 1989, longtime employee Mac McRae purchased the company from D.C. Cauthan. Recognizing the strong reputation the name carried throughout the region, he chose to keep the Cauthan name and continue growing the business with the same commitment to quality.
After Mac McRae passed away in 1997, his wife Christine operated the company until 1999, when ownership was passed to their son, Michael McRae. Today, Michael continues to lead the company with the same values that have guided Cauthan Construction for over seventy years.
The McRae family has been part of the company for more than four decades and remains committed to the principles the company was built upon.
Leadership
Michael McRae grew up around the construction business and developed a passion for building from an early age. Today, he leads Cauthan Construction with a focus on quality craftsmanship, trusted relationships, and continued growth across South Georgia and North Florida.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time outdoors whenever he can.

No task is so urgent that it cannot be done safely. Our goal is to identify and address potential hazards before they become problems.
Cauthan Construction also maintains a workplace that is free from substance abuse in order to protect the health and safety of our employees and partners.
