Project Executive Director/Owner
Michael McRae
Born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia, Michael has grown up around construction his entire life. He is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. He has risen through the ranks at Cauthan Construction Company, Inc. beginning as a carpenter helper in 1994 and is now the owner of the company.
Michael has successfully managed numerous multi-million-dollar projects and is remarkably familiar with the critical path schedules and the project management techniques for assuring that a project remains on schedule and within budget. He will perform in a leadership role with his construction management team with a special effort during the preconstruction phase to ensure local participation from trade contractors.
During his tenure with the company Michael has managed Leed Certified projects, achieving both Gold and Silver ratings.
Senior Project Manager
Clay Shill
Clay started working with CCC in 1998 as a carpenter's helper. He eventually worked his way up through the ranks as Superintendent where he completed numerous million-dollar projects. Clay has served as a Project Manager the past year.
Clay will provide overall management and oversight for projects as Sr. Project Manager. His construction leadership experience gives him an edge in reviewing and improving CPM schedules, site logistics, plans that optimize safety, and management of procurement and production teams. He will use his team building skills in the pre-construction phase to facilitate open and honest discussions of material, design and process alternatives that improve quality and reduce costs and schedule time. Clay is a collaborative communicator who will make sure that owners, the design team, field staff and the Cauthan office staff all understand what critical next steps are being contemplated and executed. His oversight and review of program constructability will contribute to the development of comprehensive bid packages and review of bidder qualifications that will assure budget viability.
Project Manager
Robby Dasher
Robby has been in the facility and construction business for more than 30 years. Beginning his career as a HVAC technician and installer for Ray and Son Heating and Air Conditioning in 1992. He has worked with the Berrien County School System and the Tift County School System for a combined 29 years serving as maintenance supervisor, operations director, and Chief Operations Officer over the years.
During his tenure he managed more than $84,000,000 of School construction and renovations, Working closely with architects, engineers, state, and local authorities among others. He has a long history and working relationship with the Georgia Department of Education with their facility division and Capital Outlay Program. He holds a Georgia Conditioned Air Non-Restricted contractor's license and is a member of multiples state organizations including GASFA. GA4LE, and GAPT.
General Superintendent
Darryl Peacock
Darryl's 22 years of construction experience with commercial projects help equip him with the construction knowledge needed to make a project successful in the field. He has an exceptional talent coordinating and supervising sub-contractor field activities.
As a General Superintendent, Darryl is responsible for many facets of construction jobsite activities. He diligently monitors field construction techniques, methods, and jobsite cleanliness all while ensuring safety and managing Cauthans' safety program. He helps ensure the owner a high level of quality standards while meeting schedule target dates.
Controller
Jeri Simmons
Jeri has been in the accounting profession for 37 years. She has worked for a local CPA company for 9 years in Client, tax and retirement plan accounting and as Comptroller for the remaining 28 years. Jeri came to Cauthan Construction as Comptroller in 2010.
As Comptroller she is responsible for all phases of accounting including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Financial Statements, Certified Audits, Job Cost Analysis, Billing, Banking and any other accounting duties as needed.
Administrative Assistant
Amber Kemp
Amber Kemp has a wide range of experience which centers around office administrative work. She oversees Human Resources, prepares bids, prepares and executes project documents including issuing Purchase Orders, Change Orders and Sub-Contracts, Progress Schedules, closes out all jobs and prepares final closeout documents. She oversees the Safety Program making sure we are compliant with OSHA as well as designing presentations for potential clients.
In addition, she possesses a professional relationship with Architects, Clients, Sub-Contractors, Suppliers, and Employees.
